Which dermal fillers do you use?
We use dermal fillers containing high concentrations of hyaluronic acid.
Why don’t you offer permanent fillers?
We value patient safety over everything else, using hyaluronic acid based fillers means that should we need to, we can dissolve the filler making our treatments a much safer option.
What are fillers used for?
They are used to restore volume, smooth lines and wrinkles, and enhance facial contours.
Why does my filler feel lumpy and hard?
Please don’t worry this can be completely normal, fillers need time to settle, this should resolve within 2 weeks.
I am worried about the bruising I have following my filler treatment?
Bruising is completely normal and can be quite severe or large although this is uncommon. If you are worried about any bruising please send us a photo of the area as soon as possible and we will arrange to see you for a follow up.
How long until I can top up my filler?
We recommend waiting 6 weeks after your initial treatment if you would like to top up the area.
How long do dermal fillers last?
The duration of results varies depending on the type of filler used, the treated area, and individual factors such as metabolism. Generally, results last from 6 to 12 months.
I had fillers elsewhere which I am unhappy with can you help?
Please book a consultation with us to discuss your options, we may be able to tweak your previous treatment, alternatively we can discuss dissolving your filler.
Is the procedure painful?
Our dermal fillers contain a local anesthetic to minimise discomfort during injection. Additionally, topical numbing cream can be applied prior to treatment dependent upon the area being treated, generally this is a tolerable procedure.
Are dermal fillers safe?
When administered by a trained and experienced injector, dermal fillers are generally considered safe. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects, such as swelling, bruising, or allergic reactions. Here at Rachel Aesthetics we carefully follow procedures to ensure the treatment is as safe as possible.
How long does the procedure take?
The injection process typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated and the complexity of the procedure.
Is there any downtime after dermal filler injections?
Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment following some exclusions. However, some swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites may occur, which usually resolves within a few days.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved if I’m unhappy with the results?
Yes, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This allows for correction or reversal of results if needed.
How soon will I see results?
Results from dermal fillers are visible immediately after treatment, although there may be some initial swelling. Final results are usually fully realised within 1 to 2 weeks.
Who is a good candidate for dermal fillers?
Good candidates for dermal fillers are individuals who are in good overall health and have realistic expectations about the outcome of the treatment.
I’m not sure how much filler I want?
We recommend starting with a lower amount to allow you to get used to the visual change. This also provides a good building foundation for further treatments if you decide you’d like more in the area which increases the longevity of the result.
